The Board of Directors of DIALOG is pleased to announce that in line with DIALOG’s business growth strategies and succession planning to bring DIALOG to greater heights, Mr Chan Yew Kai has been promoted to Executive Deputy Chairman of DIALOG. Tan Sri Dr Ngau Boon Keat remains as Executive Chairman of DIALOG.
The new organisation will see Mr Chan being more involved in dealing with business strategies and new ventures. Tan Sri Dr Ngau will continue with steering DIALOG on its vision.
Following Mr Chan Yew Kai’s appointment as Executive Deputy Chairman, Encik Mustaffa Kamal Bin Abu Bakar has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer. He will now play a greater role in running the business of DIALOG in furtherance of his current role in managing the Malaysia business operations.
Mr Chan Yew Kai was appointed to DIALOG Board on 23 September 2005 and is currently the Executive Deputy Chairman of DIALOG. He is also a member of the Risk Management Committee.
He is a Malaysian, aged 60 and holds a first class honours degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Malaya. He is a member of the Institution of Engineers, Malaysia and is a Professional Engineer registered with the Board of Engineers, Malaysia. He is also a Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers, United Kingdom.
He joined DIALOG in 1993 as General Manager and was later promoted as Director and Chief Executive Officer of Dialog Systems (Asia) Pte Ltd, overseeing the operations of the Group’s Business Development, Marketing, Technical Services and Petroleum Retail and subsequently appointed as Deputy Group Managing Director and President & Chief Operating Officer of DIALOG on 23 September 2005 and 1 November 2009 respectively. He has over 36 years of experience in the oil, gas and petrochemical industry encompassing plant operations, project engineering and management, marketing and business development. He was formerly with ICI for 9 years and PETRONAS for 5 years.
Encik Mustaffa Kamal Bin Abu Bakar joined DIALOG in 2001 and is currently the Chief Operating Officer of DIALOG. He is a Malaysian, aged 50 and he holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Nevada-Reno University, USA.
He joined DIALOG in 2001 as Director, Business Development (Plant Services Division) and was later the Chief Executive Officer of Dialog E & C Sdn Bhd and Dialog Plant Services Sdn Bhd. He was subsequently promoted as Group Managing Director for the Malaysia Business Operations on 1 November 2009.
He has more than 27 years of working experience in the oil, gas and petrochemical industry. He was formerly with PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd for 5 years and with other oil and gas related companies in design consultancy, construction and fabrication, and maintenance & specialised services.
The above appointments were effective from 10 October 2014.
